This document describes how to install the Qgar software platform, either from RPM binary packages, or, for users who cannot/wish not use RPMs, from its sources.

1. Introduction

The Qgar platform can be installed in two ways:

For Mandrake Linux users, a binary distribution using RPM is provided. As a matter of fact, this distribution should also work on most Linux distributions supporting RPM, such as Red Hat or SuSE, although it has not been tested.
Users of other Linux distributions may either try the RPM installation if their OS is compatible with a Mandrake 10.0 or higher distribution, or may install the platform from its sources.
